Jaelene & Alan – NYC Connection Session

When Jaelene and Alan first contacted me about shooting them during their trip to New York City, I was pretty excited. Not only at the prospect of doing a shoot in the city, but because they’re photographers. Knowing how picky photographers can be about photography, I was flattered that they wanted me to capture their first trip to the Big Apple. I also knew it was going to be fun. I’ve known of Jaelene for some time now. We met online a couple of years ago, so it was great to finally meet in person….and seriously, how could you not have fun hanging out with a guy named Alan?

Like most photographers they didn’t have many photos of themselves. Most of us spend way more time behind the camera than we do in front of it and frankly, I’m a lot better behind the camera than I am in front of it. As you can see here, these guys didn’t have a problem with a little role reversal. In fact, they were great! You can check out their work at Jaelene Bryan Photography.

I also have to give a shout out to my girl Tricia of Tricia LaPont Photography for hanging out and letting me bounce ideas off her, not to mention pretending to laugh at my corny jokes.

Natalie & Dave – Central Park Wedding

When Natalie & Dave told me they were from the UK and wanted me to shoot their wedding, I was ecstatic. When they said they were getting married here in New York, I was a little less ecstatic….but ecstatic nonetheless. And when they told me the wedding was taking place outdoors in Central Park and in January, I was worried. You see, I absolutely hate cold weather….hate it! The thought of freezing my buns off crossed my mind, but we hit it off so well in our video conference that I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to spend some time hanging out with them.

With temps in the mid-40’s, the weather turned out to be a non-issue. The ceremony was a small one, with only myself and the amazing Reverend Alison, who conduct the ceremony, in attendance. Natalie and Dave were so much fun to be around. Dave even helped me add a new word to my vocabulary….”knackered”. As in “We we’re a bit knackered after all the walking we did.” Yeah, I can see myself using that word a lot. Enjoy!
