Valentine’s Day Photo Contest Winners – Miguelina & Greg

This weekend we had a chance to play the role of Cupid by shooting a couple in love for Valentine’s Day. Miguelina and Greg were the winners of our first Valentine’s Day Photo Contest.

Although we claim to play the role of Cupid, I get the feeling we were a little late for this one. To be honest, we were very late. It turns out that Cupid’s arrow struck the hearts of this couple a long, long time ago. Having grown up literally across the street from each other in their Washington Heights, NYC neighborhood, Miguelina and Greg have been in love for as long as they can remember. Their relationship has stood the test of time, distance, a few breakups, and some very protective parents. Not only is their story a heartwarming tale, their recent engagement and wedding later this year is a testament to the fact that love truly does conquer all…

Our photo journey included a return to their old neighborhood, a fire escape, a walk on the wild side (scroll down to see this), a subway ride, and a really expensive MetroCard. Thanks for the guided tour of the neighborhood, guys. The pleasure was all ours.

Happy Valentine’s Day to Miguelina & Greg and to all the couples out there.

WOW Alan, This is beautiful! These two look spectacular, you were very successful in capturing sweet intimate moments in a crowded and non-intimate place such as the Big Apple.

    I am a FAN!

Ask Me Anything!

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Formspring, you should because it’s a great idea. It’s a place where you can ask/answer questions publicly and I’ve been having some fun with it lately. If you have questions about photography, sports, jazz music, food, etc. feel free to ask away. You can ask questions anonymously, but it’s a lot more fun if you sign up and have a username. Either way feel free to ask away!

Alan these photos are great! You definitely were on top of your game here. The essence of this really beautiful couple in NYC, the angles, locations, the black and white shots, the color shots – you captured it all here! Wonderful work!

Valentine’s Day Photo Contest – Long Island Wedding Photographer

Posted on January 17, 2010

Long Island Wedding Photographer

We are very happy to announce our very first Valentine’s Day Photo Contest.

We want to show our appreciation for both our clients and our growing fan base, so we’ve decided to give away a complimentary photo session to one lucky couple. Since we’re in the business of capturing people in love, we couldn’t think of a better occasion to do this than Valentine’s Day.

So, what’s the catch? (you know there’s always a catch!)

Really, it’s simple.

All you have to do is send us an e-mail telling us a little about you, about your relationship, and why you think you should be the chosen couple. We’d like to hear how you met, where you met, how long you’ve been together, and your idea for a photo shoot. Whichever couple comes up with what we think is the most interesting story and/or the coolest idea for a photo shoot will be chosen for the Valentine’s Day weekend photo session.

This contest is open to couples of ALL types, married or not, engaged or not. If you’re a couple in love with an interesting story or photo shoot idea, you have a chance at winning. It also helps to be a fan of our Facebook page.

Contest Rules:

1. You must be a couple (Duh!)

2. Only entries submitted by e-mail will be accepted.

3. Entries must be received by 11:59pm EST on January 31st.

The lucky couple will be announced February 1st and the photo shoot will take place sometime during the Valentine’s Day weekend.

Now let’s get those e-mails in so we can pick a winner! Also, make sure you become a fan of our Facebook page to increase your chances of winning.

Good luck!
