Natalie & Dave – Central Park Wedding

When Natalie & Dave told me they were from the UK and wanted me to shoot their wedding, I was ecstatic. When they said they were getting married here in New York, I was a little less ecstatic….but ecstatic nonetheless. And when they told me the wedding was taking place outdoors in Central Park and in January, I was worried. You see, I absolutely hate cold weather….hate it! The thought of freezing my buns off crossed my mind, but we hit it off so well in our video conference that I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to spend some time hanging out with them.

With temps in the mid-40′s, the weather turned out to be a non-issue. The ceremony was a small one, with only myself and the amazing Reverend Alison, who conduct the ceremony, in attendance. Natalie and Dave were so much fun to be around. Dave even helped me add a new word to my vocabulary….”knackered”. As in “We we’re a bit knackered after all the walking we did.” Yeah, I can see myself using that word a lot. Enjoy!

A Year in Review: Images from 2011

2011 was an amazing year for us. We got to hang out with so many fun people and had an amazing time getting to know them. There’s nothing better than having the opportunity to capture moments from some the happiest times of their lives.

Instead of doing a “Best of….” post, we decided to put together a collage featuring all of our couples along with some of our favorite photos from the 2011. Looking back at these images helped us relive the year and reinforces that feeling of doing what we love to do. I’ve always said that we have the best clients and 2011 is living proof of that. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your lives. It was our honor to be there for you…

One of our favorite engagement sessions from 2011 has turned out to be one of our most popular shoots. For the second time this week, Jennifer and Henry’s farm engagement session has been featured on a wedding blog. “I Love Farm Weddings” recently featured the session as part of their “Farm Inspiration”. It feels great to be able to provide inspiration not only to other couples, but to other photographers as well.

You might remember Jennifer & Henry’s horse farm engagement session from last summer. Well, it was recently published on The Lovely Find, a wedding blog that features inspiration for Southern weddings. I already know what you’re thinking. Southern weddings? On Long Island? Say what??? I think it’s pretty cool for a Long Island wedding photographer to be featured on a southern wedding blog. I’m really flattered about the fact that they don’t typically feature shoots from up north. Think about it, if you look around you’ll see that Long Island has a southern charm of its own. Besides, both of my parents are from Alabama, so I like to think there’s a little country boy in me somewhere.
