Jurassic Park meets Central Park…
When Jenna and Christina decided to do their engagement session at the American Museum of Natural History, I thought it was a great idea. My mother used to take me there when I was a little boy, but I hadn’t been back there in ages. I was really excited about the photos and the chance to see the Museum again……and with Central Park right across the street, it only made sense for us to spend some time shooting there as well.
True story: We were looking for interesting backdrops for one of the ring shots, when Christina said, “Oooh, we should do one by the Paranthropus!”
Me: “The what???”
I wasn’t exactly sure what she was referring to, but I knew there were some pretty cool looking skulls there. Well, it turns out that her degree is in Archeology and she actually knew the scientific name of that specimen…..Wow! I’ve been around some smart people, but that pretty much takes the cake. Remind me to never challenge her to a game of Scrabble!

Two beautiful rings that look like they could be part of a museum exhibit.

Meet “Mr. Palanthropus” himself…

Karen and Matt love Brooklyn. I mean they really, really love Brooklyn! So much that they wanted their engagement session to feature Brooklyn’s most famous landmark…..the Brooklyn Bridge.
Although we managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the city, this lovely couple is all about the B and the K.
It turns out that they spend a lot of time on weekends hanging out in Brooklyn Bridge Park. In fact, Matt proposed to Karen on the Brooklyn Bridge. Needless to say, the Bridge and Brooklyn itself mean a lot to them. After their wedding in October, they’ll be residing where else, but in Brooklyn.
I have to add that this was a very hot, humid day. Despite the heat and humidity, they didn’t complain one bit. Talk about being real troopers. We were all pooped at the end of the day, but it was well worth it!

Matt treated Karen to a sultry piano seranade…

…and Karen returned the favor with some equally sultry lyrics.

We made it back to Brooklyn and were greeted by a fabulous fireworks display…..just like we planned it!
