Celebrating the Life of a “Good Friend” – Long Island Wedding Photographer

One of our many hobbies is fishkeeping. It’s something we’ve been involved in for quite a while now and something we really, really enjoy. I could just sit there for hours and just watch the fish. That is, if I had the time to sit there for hours…..which I don’t!

At one point we had a full breeding setup of about 6 tanks, all filled with African Cichlids from Lake Malawi. Over the years, we managed to whittle it down to just one 75 gallon aquarium. We recently lost a favorite of ours….a fish that we’ve had for near 4 years. His name was “Spot”. You can tell how he got that name by taking a look at the image below.

Rest In Peace, my friend…

The Hispanic Network’s “Latin Jazz Night” – Long Island Wedding Photographer

The Hispanic Network (THN) is the brain-child of my good friend Maria-Morales Prieto. THN is a group with a networking component that connects businesses on a monthly basis.

On February 18th, THN held its 1st Annual “Latin Jazz Night” at the Long Island Marriot in Uniondale, NY. This is just one of many networking events sponsored by THN throughout the calendar year. These events are held monthly and take place at some of the nicest venues Long Island has to offer.

Silke and I are honored to be associated with such a wonderful group of business owners and really enjoy seeing both new faces and old friends. Latin Jazz Night is a favorite because we had the chance to listen to one of our favorite bands, The Cuban Cigars. Led by keyboardist Rob Spano, the Cigars lay down the funky, smooth sound that gives each THN event such an intimate feel.

Valentine’s Day Photo Contest Winners – Miguelina & Greg – Long Island Wedding Photographer

Long Island Wedding Photographer

This weekend we had a chance to play the role of Cupid by shooting a couple in love for Valentine’s Day. Miguelina and Greg were the winners of our first Valentine’s Day Photo Contest.

Although we claim to play the role of Cupid, I get the feeling we were a little late for this one. To be honest, we were very late. It turns out that Cupid’s arrow struck the hearts of this couple a long, long time ago. Having grown up literally across the street from each other in their Washington Heights, NYC neighborhood, Miguelina and Greg have been in love for as long as they can remember. Their relationship has stood the test of time, distance, a few breakups, and some very protective parents. Not only is their story a heartwarming tale, their recent engagement and wedding later this year is a testament to the fact that love truly does conquer all…

Our photo journey included a return to their old neighborhood, a fire escape, a walk on the wild side (scroll down to see this), a subway ride, and a really expensive MetroCard. Thanks for the guided tour of the neighborhood, guys. The pleasure was all ours.

Happy Valentine’s Day to Miguelina & Greg and to all the couples out there.

Alan you’re DA MAN!!! This is an AWESOME set!! Once again, you did a great job capturing the chemistry between this couple!! How do you get that last shot with cars coming at you?!!! 🙂 🙂

WOW Alan, This is beautiful! These two look spectacular, you were very successful in capturing sweet intimate moments in a crowded and non-intimate place such as the Big Apple.

I am a FAN!
