Why Engagement Photo Sessions Are So Important

Posted on March 4, 2010

As some of you know, we are strong advocates of having an Engagement Session done prior to your wedding, for several reasons. It’s such a vital part of the wedding photography process that we make it point to stress the importance of the Engagment Session to every couple we meet. Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Claudia Copquin of GettingMarriedonLongIsland.com on this particular topic.

You can read the complete interview HERE.

If you’re getting married on Long Island (or anywhere else for that matter) make sure you take some time to browse the GettingMarriedonLongIsland.com website for some great info and excellent tips on planning your wedding.

Celebrating the Life of a “Good Friend”

Posted on February 26, 2010

One of our many hobbies is fishkeeping. It’s something we’ve been involved in for quite a while now and something we really, really enjoy. I can just sit there for hours and just watch the fish. That is, if I had the time to sit there for hours…..which I don’t!

At one point we had a full breeding setup of about 6 tanks, all filled with African Cichlids from Lake Malawi. Over the years, we managed to whittle it down to just one 75 gallon aquarium. We recently lost a favorite of ours….a fish that we’ve had for near 4 years. His name was “Spot”. You can tell how he got that name by taking a look at the image below.

Rest In Peace, my friend…

The Hispanic Network’s “Latin Jazz Night” – Long Island Photographer

The Hispanic Network (THN) is the brain-child of my good friend Maria-Morales Prieto. THN is a group with a networking component that connects businesses on a monthly basis.

On February 18th, THN held its 1st Annual “Latin Jazz Night” at the Long Island Marriot in Uniondale, NY. This is just one of many networking events sponsored by THN throughout the calendar year. These events are held monthly and take place at some of the nicest venues Long Island has to offer.

Silke and I are honored to be associated with such a wonderful group of business owners and really enjoy seeing both new faces and old friends. Latin Jazz Night is a favorite because we had the chance to listen to one of our favorite bands, The Cuban Cigars. Led by keyboardist Rob Spano, the Cigars lay down the funky, smooth sound that gives each THN event such an intimate feel.
